Dragons Academy products and former Wales Under-20 stars Fry and Coleman impressed in the latter stages of the tournament.
Back row Fry made his full debut against Timisoara Saracens while prop Coleman also enjoyed his first start against the Romanians.
“Timisoara was always a game that we targeted to give certain players opportunities,” said Jones.
“Even if we had a fully fit squad, it was a chance to give others a go and players like Ben Fry and Chris Coleman took that opportunity.
“I thought Ben was really abrasive in what he did - he is a no holds barred character. He doesn’t shy away from confrontation, which is something you can’t teach.
“Chris has shown glimpses of being a real player,” he added. “There is a lot of work to be done, especially around the scrum, which excites me because I can look at that area quite a bit with him.
“Hopefully we will have other opportunities to play him over the coming weeks, if not he goes back to Ebbw Vale.
“Ebbw Vale have a really good pack who had really brought him on with confidence. A young front rower needs a strong pack around him to help him step up and get confidence.”
