Dragons have today (Friday) launched this season’s new, limited edition, orange kit, in conjunction with our title partner Monmouthshire Building Society (MBS).
Dragons and official kit partners VX3 have revealed a striking third kit that will be worn for the very first time next month, with the bright, fresh and eye-catching design celebrating a major milestone for MBS.
MBS have turned 150-years-old and that incredible milestone is reflected with new branding on the front of the jersey and the adoption of the bold colours of the business that was founded in Newport in 1869.
First team stars Richard Hibbard, Harrison Keddie and Max Williams were on hand to help showcase the kit when they made a special visit to MBS in Newport ‘s John Frost Square on Friday afternoon.
The trio modelled the new kit as well as surprising staff, customers and shoppers in Newport with giveaways, as they signed autographs and posed for photos.
Dragons' Managing Director Mark Jones said, “We’re delighted to have teamed up with Monmouthshire Building Society to launch this special limited edition kit and to wear their colours as we help celebrate their 150th anniversary.
“This year’s new home and away jerseys have proven popular with supporters with sales performing well since launch and this third kit compliments them both, with some supporters attracted to a more radical colour choice.
"We hope our loyal support will take the chance to choose their favourite ahead of Christmas, especially with our Black Friday sale now on.”
Monmouthshire Bulding Society was the idea and vision of three local businessmen in 1869 that has transformed into a modern and dynamic mutual building society with over £1 billion pounds in assets.
The foundations first laid in 1869 have enabled the society to support the people and communities in which it is based and seen Newport grow from a population of 26,000 people and 3,900 properties to its present size.
CEO at MBS, Will Carroll, said: “We have a fantastic relationship with the Dragons, and it has been incredible to work together on developing this celebration kit which marks our 150th birthday. I hope our loyal members, many of whom are Dragons supporters will like the eye-catching jersey and wear with pride.
“I’m looking forward to seeing the kit on the field in the coming weeks as well as in and around Gwent!”
This third kit also carries the logo of Shelter Cymru, selected in partnership with Monmouthshire Building Society, and with the help of their staff and members, the charity will get support this season through MBS branches and outreach work.
Other sponsors to feature on the new kit are Bisley, BT, Compeed, Dragon Studios, iac, BMS, Coleg QS, Inter-haul, Harlequin, The Energy Check, Clarity Copiers, GOS Engineering, GP Shipping, PT Consultancy, Hopkins Machinery, iParts4U, Shadow Scaffolding, Valley Water Services and Worthington’s, plus VX3.
Orange shorts and socks complete the vibrant new design, that will be worn for the first-time next month as Dragons continue to build for the future in both the Guinness PRO14 and European Challenge Cup.
The new third kit is available NOW from the Club Shop at Rodney Parade and online at dragonsrugby.wales/shop with our Black Friday sale on replica and training wear offering a 25% discount until 2nd December.
