Dragons and Wales rugby star Elliot Dee has been volunteering his time to help deliver meals and drinks to NHS staff, St David's Hospice and other front line workers.
Run by former Dragons hooker Paul Young and a favourite spot for current Dragons players, The Pod in Newport is appealing for support to help provide meals for those putting their lives at risk during these unprecedented times.
After advertising healthy, tasty takeaways recently, the team at The Pod decided to extend their offering to give local workers who are working harder than ever, so they have one less thing to worry about after a long shift.… a healthy nutritious meal.
£5 covers the cost to create and deliver a meal, which include homemade beef chilli; jacket potato, chicken korma; rice, sweet chilli chicken rice; broccoli, vegetable curry; cottage pie.
Elliot said, "I just wanted to do something to help in a small way that I can, so I ve been volunteering at The Pod for Paul Young delivering meals for NHS staff. "We're all grateful for what front line workers are doing right now."
If you would like to buy dinner for an NHS worker or just to thank them for putting their lives at risk for ours, you can donate now and help them get to their initial £10,000 target.
