The Dragons Ultimate XV backline is filling up following the conclusion of the inside centre vote! Now to see who will be selected as the outside centre in our Ultimate XV feature – in association with doopoll.
The votes were cast and former Dragons academy graduate Ashley Smith came out on top to seal his place in the Dragons Rugby Ultimate XV – but who will partner him in midfield and be the outside centre in the Ultimate Dragons backline?
Today we have selected seven stars to pick for the outside centre spot.

Which of these nominations gets your vote:
Adam Hughes (2010-2014) (2015-2018) 119 appearances
Newport-born Hughes made his debut for the Dragons against Cardiff Blues in April 2010. That same year he was selected in the Wales Under 20 squad for the Junior World Cup in Argentina. Hughes amassed 119 appearances over two stints with the region scoring 22 tries, with a brief stint at Exeter Chiefs in between his time at Rodney Parade. Hughes retired in 2018 on medical advice but is a qualified IFA working for Niche and also a Welsh referee.
Adam Warren (2015-present) 110 appearances
Born in Carmarthen Warren came through the youth ranks at Llangennech. After a storming debut season in the first XV he earned himself a move to Llandovery and progressed to the Scarlets. The centre joined Dragons in 2015 and is another centurion at the club having made 110 appearances in his five seasons at Rodney Parade. He won international caps for Wales Under 20s and Wales Sevens before being capped for Wales at senior level against the Barbarians in 2012 at Principality Stadium.
Hal Luscombe (2003-2006) 51 appearances
Welsh international Luscombe spent three seasons at Rodney Parade accumulating 51 appearances from 2003-2006. The centre joined Harelquins in 2006 following his Dragons departure and spent two seasons playing at the Twickenham Stoop before finishing his career with Worcester Warriors in 2008-09 season. Luscombe retired at the age of 28 due to a series of injuries. He represented Wales at u21 level and earned 16 caps for the senior national team in his career, including appearing in the 2005 Six Nations Grand Slam campaign.
Percy Montgomery (2003-2005) 38 appearances
The South African rugby legend spent two seasons at Rodney Parade from 2003-2005 making 38 appearances scoring 251 points. Montgomery joined the Dragons from the Stormers in Super Rugby and returned to South Africa upon his Dragons departure with a move to the Sharks. Montgomery amassed over 100 caps for the South African national team and at the time of his international retirement he held the all-time records for both caps and points scored for the Springboks.
Patrick Leach (2009-2015) 78 appearances
St Asaph born Leach joined the Dragons in the summer of 2009, after impressing Dragons coaching staff during a pre-season training camp. He went on to make 78 appearances during his six seasons at Rodney Parade despite missing much of the 2009/2010 season due to injury. His previous clubs included Manchester Rugby Club as well as playing for Orrell and Cheshire.
Matthew J Watkins (2009-2011) 25 appearances
Matthew J Watkins began his professional career with Newport RFC and was a hugely popular figure with fans at Rodney Parade. He went on to play for the Scarlets and Gloucester before returning home, to sign for Dragons in 2009. The creative and silky-skilled centre made 25 appearances in his two seasons with the region before his retirement from the sport in 2011. Watkins achieved 18 caps for Wales between 2003-2006.
Tyler Morgan (2013-present) 89 appearances
Newport-born Morgan is a product of the Dragons Academy system. The centre came through the Dragons age grades playing for both the Under-16s and Under-18s whilst also making appearances for Newport and Cross Keys. Morgan made his Dragons debut in a regional derby against Scarlets in 2013. The young gun won several caps for Wales Under-20s before being called up by the Wales set-up ahead of the 2015 Rugby World Cup. Morgan made his Test debut against Ireland at the Principality Stadium on August 2015 and later made two appearances in the World Cup.
