Rhodri Williams has called on Dragons RFC to build momentum in the trio of upcoming pre-season fixtures.
Scrum half Williams comes up against his former club this evening having spent two years with the Bears before moving across the bridge to join Dragons in 2018.
The 28-year-old – who has made 78 appearances over four years for the Men of Gwent – starts tonight against Bears.
And the Swansea-born nine is keen to starting building for a big new campaign in the United Rugby Championship and Europe.
“It’s our first knockout so we’re looking to build momentum into the season. Once the season starts games come thick and fast,” he said.
“We can't wait until the first game to try and get going and we need to use these games as a stepping-stone to that game with Edinburgh.
“These pre-season games are about putting your hand up and in the right way. You can’t be worrying about yourself. It’s about what is best for the team and trying to put that right foot forward.”
