We are delighted to announce that our grounds team have won the League Two Grounds Team of the 2022/2023 season for the second year running.
The Rodney Parade County’s grounds team work tirelessly, day in day out to ensure our pitch is of the highest quality, throughout the season no matter what the weather conditions.
Receiving this award for the second year running really reflects the hard work they put in, keeping the pitch the incredibly high standard that it is and has been throughout the season.
Our Grounds Team won this award in the 2021/2022 season, won a similar award from the Grounds Management Association in 2022 and to top it off have received this fantastic award for this season too.
To inform the decision-making, pitch marks are provided by the referee and away team manager for all EFL League matches. The top clubs from each division with the highest divisional average are then visited by Neil Rodger, from STRI (Sports Turf Research Institute), where further assessments are carried out, which cover pitch quality, environmental conditions and usage, resources, management, and sustainability.
When we spoke to our Ground’s Team after receiving their award and they said: "We’re absolutely delighted to be triple award winners in the space of 12-months, this award is recognition of the hard work we put in day in, day out."
