The passionate and partisan Compeed Terrace at Rodney Parade is one of the most iconic places to watch rugby in Wales – and now fans, both old and new, can gather to show their support under a banner that brings them together.
Many supporters would have seen the new ‘Stand Up For The Men Of Gwent - #SUFTMOG’ board go up this season.
A collaboration between the club and the Dragons Official Supporters Club (DOSC), the banner in the heart of the terrace provides a signpost for fans to gather and show their support.
Dan Hallett, from DOSC, said: “It is great to see Dragons acknowledge the importance of the supporters in this way.
“Our own advertising hoarding is a great touch. It reinforces the words of the leadership team, especially David Buttress, expressing that the supporters are a vital cog in the wheel of Dragons RFC.
“The visibility and placement near the location on the Compeed Terrace where the more vociferous members tend to stand is a brave move - some of us have a face for radio when the cameras focus in on the sign.
“Though, at least we can turn around and read the chant, in case we forget! #SUFTMOG.”
David Watts, Commercial Assistant at Dragons RFC, said: “We’re all proud to see the board go up on the Compeed Terrace and know it will mean so much the fans.
“It might just look like a sign, but it means so much more. Coming to the game for the first time on your own can be challenging, but head to the sign and I guarantee you will make friends.
“We hope this sign helps connect our vocal supporters together on the terrace. So please meet, chant, sing, cheer and enjoy!”
