Head of Recruitment Rob Burgess has left his role at Dragons RFC to take up a new position with a club in the English Premiership.
Burgess, a former Head of Rugby Operations at Gloucester Rugby and England Team Operations Manager, linked up with the Men of Gwent in 2020 and has been an instrumental figure at Rodney Parade.
A former Media Manager at UK Sport, Burgess leaves with our best wishes as he makes his return to English rugby.
Head Coach Dai Flanagan said: “Rob has made a big impression on us all during my time at Dragons and while we are disappointed to see him go we are also pleased that he has secured a new position back in English rugby.
“Rob has been a key figure as Head of Recruitment, but in recent seasons his remit has been far wider than just that and his professionalism, vast experience and passion for the club means he leaves us in a far stronger position.
“We now wish Rob and his family every success and we look forward to welcoming them all back to Rodney Parade to watch Dragons in the near future.”
Burgess said: “I’m sad to be leaving the Dragons but I wish Head Coach Dai Flanagan and the team all the best. I hugely enjoyed my time in Wales and believe the Dragons squad is now well-placed to kick on and push up the United Rugby Championship."
