Forwards Coach Luke Narraway was encouraged by the first outing of the season for Dragons as the Men of Gwent opened with a 20-19 victory over Ospreys at Rodney Parade.
First things first, we got the win," he ssid. "I have been in plenty of games where we have been really competitive and led for 65-70 minutes and managed to lose.
"It was our first hit out and a first chance to practice things from the training ground on a pitch in game intensity.
"There is plenty of stuff that we can work on but only a game like this gives that information.
"We've just got to make sure we brush up on all the technical things and make sure we come back better next week.
"The second half was quite scrappy but it can be disjointed when you have players coming on at half-time and others then coming back on.
"Can we be better? Yes, we can but we have given players valuable minutes at game intensity and we've looked at certain combinations."
