Dragons RFC back row Shane Lewis-Hughes has this week successfully undergone surgery to amputate a finger on his right hand.
Lewis-Hughes, who has impressed in his seven appearances for the Men of Gwent this season, elected to go under the knife earlier today (Friday) to help overcome a long-standing finger issue.
The 27-year-old had his ring finger on his right hand amputated to just above the base knuckle following several years having to manage severe issues with his hand.
Lewis-Hughes now commences a period a rehabilitation and recovery before hopefully making his playing return in the coming weeks.
The Pontypridd-born back row sat down with Dragons TV earlier this week to discuss his decision to have surgery so he can return to full fitness for Dragons and enjoy a better quality of life away from the game.
