New Vacancy: New Business Commercial Sales Executive

Dragons RFC are seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual to join the club and be responsible for the sale and development of commercial inventory associated with the stadium and our match day corporate activity.

Salary: Competitive salary, plus excellent bonus scheme opportunities and travel expenses

Location: Rodney Parade, Newport and Centre of Excellence, Ystrad Mynach

Contract type: Permanent (Full time)

Role Summary:


Key Relationships:

  • All Dragons RFC staff
  • Sponsors, partners, clients, Newport County AFC and any other customers (existing and potential)
  • Regional and local business networks

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure sale of all sponsorship, advertising and hospitality inventory/packages associated to Dragons RFC.
  • Achieve year on year sales targets and ensure annual growth in revenue by identifying specific business opportunities throughout the region.
  • Produce tailored presentations, in support of your sales activity.
  • Attend and ensure delivery of a first-class match day experience for corporate clients for all Dragons RFC home fixtures.
  • Provide business forecasts, sales pipelines, contact strategy, call/journey planning reports to managers in respect of commercial activity.
  • Attend networking events and functions as required in support of the role.

Internal Responsibilities

  • Develop key inter-department relationships that will help support commercial activity and achieve commercial targets – become a part of the Dragons RFC.
  • Ensure safe working practices at all times and comply with all company policies and procedures.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • A friendly, positive ‘can do’ and courteous attitude.
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Good knowledge of computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Desirable:

  • Prior experience of working in an administrative role.
  • Prior experience of providing customer service.
  • Flexible attitude to work tasks and hours.
  • The ability to learn new skills, manage business correspondence and confidential information
  • A geographical knowledge of Gwent and its surrounding area.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Good presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent IT Skills, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.
  • Full UK driving licence.
