Boss Dai Flanagan has warned his Dragons the transition game can be their biggest friend or biggest enemy when they face play-off chasing DHL Stormers on Friday night (kick-off 7.35pm).
The Men of Gwent are all set to welcome a fully loaded South African side who are gunning for a top eight place in the BKT United Rugby Championship.
Head Coach Flanagan has urged his team to produce their best form in the club’s final game in Newport this season.
But he has also made them aware of the threat the visitors pose – an area where he knows his own team could also shine.
“The Stormers transition game is the best I've seen,” admitted Flanagan.
“When the game gets loose, they light up. If there's a loose kick then lookout, if there's a turnover then lookout, if there's an opportunity to go from behind the posts then they are going.
“We need to be on it and I’m sure it will be a great spectacle on Friday night for anyone comes to Rodney Parade.
“I’ve explained to the players this week that transition this week can be our biggest friend or our biggest enemy.
“We like playing off transition too with people like Rio Dyer and Jordan Williams, Chris Hollis. If we can win those transitional battles, we can have a good day.”
