Dragons RFC will be without Wales international Cai Evans for the BKT United Rugby Championship clash with DHL Stormers on Friday night (kick-off 7.35pm) – but Angus O’Brien is pushing for a recall.
Evans started at fly half in the 34-27 defeat to Connacht at Rodney Parade.
However, Head Coach Dai Flanagan has revealed Evans played most of the game with a broken bone in his shin that will now rule him out of Friday’s home showdown.
The news is better about O'Brien who is back in the selection mix after two arm injuries this campaign.
“Cai played with a broken bone in a shin for 65 minutes and got through it, which is unbelievable,” said Flanagan.
“He ploughed on but will miss a bit of rugby now. Hopefully it’s not the season over for him and we will try to get him back for the Scarlets, if not that then the Wales tour.”
Dragons and Stormers name their teams for the fixture on Thursday at noon.
