Are you passionate about rugby and eager to play a key role in our performance team? We're looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as a Senior Strength and Conditioning Coach. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the cutting edge of professional sport.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to deliver assessment-based interventions for players, enhancing their physical capabilities for optimal performance.
- Manage strength programming for a designated senior player list.
- Work closely with the Medical Team and Rehab Lead to oversee the return-to-performance process for assigned players.
- Establish a comprehensive approach to athlete development, well-being, and performance optimization by collaborating with Coaches, S&C, and Medical Staff.
- Assist in delivering speed and rugby-specific conditioning sessions for the senior squad.
- Support the implementation of performance-oriented body composition targets for designated players.
- Facilitate on-field rugby sessions in coordination with the coaching team.
- Ensure the maintenance and promotion of gym equipment and facilities.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to participants in the internship program, fostering relationships and supporting their professional development.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree (or equivalent) in Strength and Conditioning, Sports Science, or related field.
- UKSCA or similar qualification/accreditation (desirable)
- Substantial post-graduate experience providing strength and conditioning support in elite rugby or elite sport environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in planning, implementing, modifying, and monitoring specific strength and conditioning programs for high performance.
- Experience analysing the physical demands of a sport and developing strategies to enhance performance.
- Proven track record of working within a multidisciplinary team in elite sport.
