Young rugby hopefuls enjoyed a series of Skills Camps over the October half-term at Rodney Parade - as our new-look camps from Dragons Community proved a big hit!
The camps – in association with Skills Camp partner Tata Steel and headline community partner Centreprise International and Sport Caerphilly - took place between Monday and Wednesday this week, with a fresh new look.
On Monday (October 28) and Tuesday (October 29) we held two camps each day for six to eight-year-olds that included:
- Tagging
- Passing
- Evasion
- Catching
- Tag Games
The Contact Camp is for nine to 12-year-olds included:
- Advanced Skills
- Conditioning
- Contact Area
- Tackling
- Passing
- Evasion
Our new Platinum Package - with an early drop off at 8am and late pick-up at 3pm, plus a stadium tour - proved really popular.
On Wednesday (October 30) we also ran an Advanced Development Camp for 13 to 16-year-olds that included:
- Advanced drills and technique
- A qualified PT instructor
- Fitness Training
- Advice from Dragons coaches
- Use of the Dragons RFC home changing rooms
- Player Q&A
The players got to meet a number of Dragons throughout the week including Ashton Hewitt, Solomone Funaki, George Nott, Harry Rees-Weldon, Nick Thomas and Harri Ford.
