Dragons RFC are seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual to join our award-winning community team in the role of Dragons Community Officer.
Salary: Competitive salary, plus travel expenses
Location: Dragons Offices/Gateway Schools/Rodney Parade/venues across the Dragons region.
Contract type: One-year fixed term contract. Running 6th January 25 to 2nd January 26. Subject to six-month probationary period (4th July 25).

Role Summary:
To deliver:
- Gateway Rugby Project in line with our Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) SLA.
- Community Match Day activations.
- Holiday Skills Camp & FFF programmes.
- Support of Community, Outreach, Inclusion & Equality provisions and positively promoting the Dragons brand at all times.

Key Responsibilities:
- Under the management of the Dragons Education & Engagement Manager, deliver the ABUHB Gateway Rugby Programme and its sub initiatives, as agreed with ABUHB (fitness & nutrition).
- Monitor & collect evidence to report on agreed monitoring process to fulfil ABUHB obligations.
- Build quality working relationships with schools, clubs, staff and pupils.
- Positively promote Dragons RFC & Community at every opportunity, acting as a good role model at all times.
- Delivery of match day activation at all Dragons home matches at Rodney Parade.
- Delivery of Dragons holiday skills camps & FFF programmes around the region.
- Support Community departments Inclusion, Equality and Outreach programmes.
- Attend Dragons Community events and relevant meetings as requested by Line Manager.
- Comply with company policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality, and data protection, reporting concerns to an appropriate person.
- Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of Dragons RFC.
- Comply with Dragons RFC Employee Handbook Policies & Procedures.

Person Specification:
Experience:
- Minimum 12 months experience working within a Sports Development discipline.
- Experience of delivering festivals / tournaments and recruitment days.
- Experience of working with children and adults.
- Experience of working in schools.
- Ability to demonstrate a good level of knowledge and competence within coaching environment.
- An understanding of the needs of coaches within the community environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and relationship management.
Skills & Qualifications:
- A formal qualification or experience in a rugby, sport or education environment.
- Effective IT Skills, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Rugby coaching qualification, minimum Tag Leaders Award
