The finalists for the BUCS Super Rugby Milk Championship Finals at Rodney Parade have been confirmed.
Following four pulsating semi-finals, Cardiff Met Women will face Loughborough Women and Hartpury Men will take on Loughborough Men.
The finals take place on Wednesday, April 16 with the women’s final kicking off at 3:30pm before the men’s final at 7pm.
Several current and future international stars are set to grace the historic finals, along with a smattering of Dragons talent. Cardiff Met won away at last years’ champions Hartpury in their semi-final with Welsh international hooker and former Dragons youth player Molly Reardon scoring the game-winning try.
They will take on Loughborough who won away at Exeter University 31-39 in the other semi-final with the final pitting the third and fifth ranked sides from this years’ league phase against each other.
Elsewhere, in the men’s competition, Dragons current and future players Evan Minto and Harry Beddall helped their Hartpury side to defeat Cardiff Met in a thrilling encounter.
After Met had eased to a 14-0 lead early on in Hartpury, the home side fought back but needed a crucial try with the last try from Minto to force extra time before winning 43-34.
In the other semi-final, reigning champions Loughborough kept themselves on track for a top of the league and finals double, beating Exeter 31-24 despite having to deal with a late fightback from the visitors.
