Dragons RFC are pleased to announce legendary back row forward Ollie Griffiths is returning to the club after being appointed a Senior Strength & Conditioning Coach.
Griffiths made 105 appearances for the Men of Gwent over ten seasons, scoring six tries along the way.
The hugely popular Newbridge-born forward – currently enjoying a testimonial year with the club - became the club’s 36th centurion when he made his 100th appearance against Edinburgh in October 2023.
Griffiths retired from professional rugby on medical grounds with immediate effect in December 2024.
However, he now makes a welcome return as part of the backroom team on a part-time basis ahead of the new season, working alongside Head of Strength & Conditioning, Ryan Harris.
Head Coach Filo Tiatia said: “We’re delighted that Ollie is joining the backroom team here ahead of the new league season and returning to our environment.
“Ollie knows exactly what it means to be a Dragon, has the absolute respect of his peers and always drives the highest of standards.
“He will undoubtedly make a big impact as part of our strength and conditioning team and I’m sure our fans will join me in welcoming him back into our set-up.”
Ollie Griffiths said: “It’s a real privilege to return to the club that’s been such a massive part of my life for over 14 years as a player, but this time helping from a different angle.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to stay connected to the game and continue doing what I love.”
