Children from Our Lady of the Angels School in Cwmbran and Abersychan School in Pontypool had a treat this week as they met some of their rugby heroes as part of a big ticket giveaway from Candleston Homes.
First team aces Ben Carter and Oli Burrows were guests at the Gwent schools this week as part of the special giveaway by Candleston Homes – official stand sponsor at Rodney Parade – ahead of our BKT United Rugby Championship clash with Munster.
Candleston Homes, part of the Melin Group, have teamed up with the Men of Gwent to distribute over 1,000 tickets in the Candleston Homes Stand for the league fixture on Saturday to local families, via schools and housing communities.
Candleston was formed to create high quality, sustainable homes of all tenures and profit made by the sales of Candleston homes is reinvested to Melin Homes for the benefit of its residents and the people living in its communities.
The planned merger of Melin Homes and Newport City Homes will allow Candleston to further prosper and enable the group to invest more into its communities, enhancing services to its residents.
As part of that drive, over 1,000 tickets are being handed out to local schoolchildren and communities as Candleston and Dragons combine to inspire the Gwent community and give them a special match day experience.
Scott Rooks, Director of Candleston Homes, is thrilled with the on-going partnership with Dragons RFC and talking about the opportunities the collaboration continues to bring, he said: “Supporting communities is at the heart of our work at Candleston Homes.
“It has been great to see local schoolchildren, families, and the wider community benefit from our big-ticket giveaway.
“It's a pleasure to work with Dragons RFC, who share our ethos of providing opportunities for communities to prosper. We are excited for the future, building on our relationship with the Dragons and continuing our sponsorship into the coming seasons.”
Rhys Blumberg, CEO at Dragons RFC, added: “It’s been fantastic to work with Candlestone Homes throughout this season and on this exciting project.
“Candleston Homes do a huge amount of positive work across South East Wales and this ticket giveway, for schoolchildren and local residents, working alongside our award-winning Dragons Community team, is another show of this support.
“We are excited about our growing relationship with Candleston Homes and thank them for their support for the Munster match and throughout this campaign.”
