Following on from last weekend’s impressive 40-12 win away from home against Rygbi Gogledd Cymru, Dragons Under-18s host Scarlets at the Centre of Sporting Excellence, Ystrad Mynach, this Sunday (kick-off 2.30pm)
Dragons make nine changes to the side which won in Rhyl last weekend with only Joe Salter, Brogan Leary, Will Ford, Luke Daniel, Tiehi Chatham and captain Cerrig Smith staying in the starting XV.
Within those six there are positional changes, with Coleg Gwent’s Smith moving from blindside flanker to number eight and Haberdashers’ Monmouth School’s Daniel shifting back to six from the second row to play alongside Newport High School’s Chatham who scored a brace last weekend.
Elsewhere, Haberdashers’ Monmouth School’s Salter starts at full back with Noah Morgan of Newport High School and Coleg Gwent’s Regan Watkins on the wings.
Monmouth’s Leary is joined by Hartpury College centre Ethan Paterson meanwhile St Cenydd Comprehensive pupil Ford is partnered by Cardiff and the Vale College’s Carter Pritchard in the half backs.
The front row is two-thirds Coleg Gwent with hooker Chester Creel alongside prop Scott Crewe, accompanied by another Haberdashers’ Monmouth pupil in Regan Jones.
Second row sees Elliot Beavan of Newport High School, partners Merthyr Tydfil College’s Sam Walters.
On the bench, Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhymni are represented in the front row by Tobie Cribb, along with Hartpury’s Max Woodward and Newport High School’s Cae Jones.
Back rower Joshua Parfitt is the sole member of the 23 from Coleg y Cymoedd and he will look to make an impact alongside Coleg Gwent quartet Ashton Swain, Cai Wardman, Rhys Cole and Charlie Gregory.
