Boss Filo Tiatia is adamant Dragons are 'heading in the right direction' after the nerve-shredding 17-17 draw with Hollywoodbets Sharks at Rodney Parade.
The opening home fixture of the season was packed full of drama and tension – all played out in horrendous weather conditions – as the Rodney faithful saw the Men of Gwent battle back to draw level before an agonising final play just failed to secure the win.
Reflecting on the first two games of the BKT United Rugby Championship, Tiatia believes his team are making forward progress and will continue to learn.
“We are heading in the right direction - I truly believe that. The players are well connected and are working really hard,” said Tiatia.
“There are still areas in our game that we need to keep improving on, we will get some clarity around some things in the (Sharks) game.
“It’s important we focus on us, where we need to shift and there are still areas of growth. That’s a good thing.
“There were a lot of positives in the Sharks game. We have just got to keep going.
“They are a tight group, they scrap for each other, and every team needs grit to stay in moments.”
