Proud Head Coach Filo Tiatia praised the ‘clear and calm’ way his Dragons had stunned French giants Stade Francais Paris in the French capital.
The Men of Gwent earned one of the biggest European victories in the club’s history as they edged a classic 36-31 at Stade Jean Bouin.
Angus O’Brien, Brodie Coghlan, Chris Coleman, Elliot Dee and last action hero Wyn Jones grabbed the tries on a famous day for the club in Paris.
Dragons can now look forward to knockout rugby next weekend against either Section Paloise or Zebre Parma.
“It was a good game – it was back and forth and a good battle,” said Tiatia.
“The boys hung in there and really stayed in the fight and that was crucial for the outcome we had.
“The first half there was a lot of good things. I just wanted to take the opportunities that were in front of them and just be really clear and calm. We showed that at the end.
“It was a very positive day for us and I’m really proud of them and thankful for the support we had here from our fans.
“We have a quarter-final to look forward to next week and an opportunity.
“We know we have got Pau or Zebre in the last eight and we’ll look forward to that and prepare for wherever we are going.”
