Dragons RFC has today issued the following statement in relation to recent council discussions and proposals to support sports teams and clubs at all levels across the city:
Dragons RFC have worked closely with Newport City Council and the current leadership team led by Cllr Dimitri Batroni over the future of our club, associated clubs, and Rodney Parade stadium, and we look forward to that strong relationship continuing.
They have been outstanding supporters of the club and stadium in recent times, during what has been an intense period of instability in Welsh rugby.
We hugely value their constructive and continued support and look forward to continuing to work closely to ensure and fruitful ongoing discussions on our future, professional sport in Newport and the development and enhancement of the Rodney Parade stadium site.
