Dragons RFC were winners at the Welsh Sports Association (WSA) Sports Industry Awards 2026 as the ‘Norgine Healthy Dragons Provision’ run by the Dragons Community team was recognised.
This year’s awards once again recognised and promoted the initiatives and successes of WSA members, while also communicating best-practice models and strategies to help the Welsh sport and leisure sector to develop.
A total of 27 nominees were shortlisted for the annual awards – from just under 100 entries made – with Dragons victorious in the Best Social Impact Initiative category, sponsored by Sportscover Europe.
Dragons were recognised for the Norgine Healthy Dragons Provision which has made a significant impact in over 120 primary schools across Caerphilly, Newport, Monmouthshire, Torfaen, and Blaenau Gwent.
Over the last nine months, this active programme has delivered over 2,200 lessons, engaging 66,000 pupils in vital health and wellbeing activities. The goal to foster active lifestyles and promote healthy choices.
