Tony Brown has made a commitment to serve on the board of the Newport Gwent Dragons and the company is delighted to have a man of his business acumen on board.
“We are delighted that Tony has decided to be a part of the regional set up in south east Wales. A person of his experience in the world of business is vital if we are to be successful in this professional era of rugby and combined with his previous experience in rugby with Newport should stand us in good stead. We are playing all our home games at Rodney Parade which is a first class rugby stadia and with the name Newport in the side. We have given fans what they have asked for now is the time for them to repay the faith starting on Friday when we face the Ospreys.”
The official name of the side has been confirmed as Newport Gwent Dragons with a new logo soon to be released. The Dragons and Newport are working alongside one another launching joint season tickets and hospitality packages. “We have made these decisions with the supporters in mind, however, it cannot be a one-sided relationship, now is the time for supporters to get behind the regional side and for us to move forward together. Now is the time to forget the politics, and concentrate on the rugby.”
