The trophies, renamed in honour of Mr Phil James who sadly passed away in 2016 after 14 years’ service to the region, were hotly contested.

All teams were presented with trophies for their efforts and these were presented by representatives from Tata Steel, Newport Gwent Dragons and Phil’s family.
The two draws mean both the Shield and Cup will spend six months at both schools before returning in time for the 2018 finals.
Special thanks
Thanks also to Tata Steel, who were kind enough to rename the trophies in Phil’s honour and who sponsored both finals. Their commitment to the Community Department is exemplary.
