The votes were cast and in a close fought contest Gareth Cooper managed to claim victory at scrum half – but who will join him at outside half and direct the backline?
Today we have selected five stars to pick for the fly half spot.

Craig Warlow (2003-2007) 69 appearances
Bridgend-born Warlow impressed at Bridgend RFC, Llanelli RFC and Kenfig Hill RFC before moving to Rodney Parade in 2003. He played for the Dragons over the next four seasons, making 69 appearances and accumulating 341 points, placing him 4th on the Dragons all-time point scoring list. Warlow was recently the head coach at Newport RFC before leaving in 2019.
Ceri Sweeney (2004-2008) 86 appearances
Fly half Sweeney spent four seasons at Rodney Parade and is second on the all-time top point scorers list with 570 points for the region. He gained international honours with Wales Under 18s, 19s, 21s, Wales A and earned 35 caps for the senior side and was selected for two Rugby World Cups in 2003 and 2007.
Jason Tovey (2007-2012) (2013-2016) (2018-2019) 178 appearances
Tovey made his senior Dragons debut against Ospreys in April 2008 and began to rack up records, becoming the all-time top point scorer and the first ever Dragons player to get a try hat-trick in a competitive match against Ulster in 2009. Tovey went on to make 178 appearances across three stints for the region and earned international honours for Wales Under-20s. He is currently playing for the Cardiff Blues.
Sam Davies (2019-present) 16 appearances
Wales international Davies joined the Dragons from the Ospreys on a two-year deal in a statement signing for the region in the summer of 2019. He has gone on to make 16 appearances in his debut campaign at Rodney Parade and has instantly made a lasting impression on the Dragons faithful, with late match winning kicks. Davies is a former IRB Junior Player of the Year and has earned International honours for Wales u20s and the senior side.
Angus O’Brien (2014-2018) 70 appearances
Having previously played for Cross Keys RFC, O’Brien made his debut for the Dragons in 2014 against the Ospreys. He went on to make 70 appearances across his four seasons at Rodney Parade and finished as the overall top scorer in the regular PRO12 season in 2016/2017. O’Brien joined the Scarlets following his Dragons departure in 2018.
