Centre Aneurin Owen is eager to transfer what he has learnt with the senior squad at Dragons into the Six Nations when he lines up for Wales Under-20s this Friday evening.
Playmaker Owen, 19, has been selected in the 12 jersey for the Under-20s opener with Italy at Zipworld Stadium in Colwyn Bay (kick-off 7.35pm).
The Newport-born back will line up alongside regional team-mates Ewan Rosser, Dafydd Buckland and Ben Carter while Will Griffiths is named among the replacements.
Owen was an ever-present in the tournament last season and is eager to make an impact in his final campaign an age-grade level.
And he believes his season training with the Dragons seniors, under the guidance of Dean Ryan, will now pay dividends for Wales Under-20s.
"Dean Ryan has been class and it's an enjoyable place to learn and get better," he told the South Wales Argus.
"It's been unreal working with Sam Davies, who really leads well and his performances speak for themselves. He has given clarity and everyone knows where they should be.
"It's been a good season. I have learnt a lot and now hopefully I can show that in these Six Nations games.
"Coming into this I feel like one of the old heads because a lot of boys have come up from the under-18s.
"That means I have a bit of responsibility and there is a core group of us trying to carry them through. That's been a new challenge and I have been really enjoying it."
