Dragons back row Ross Moriarty looks back over the past few weeks which has seen Wales travel to North Wales and introduce a number of new players to the international environment.
Wales begun their summer internationals with a 68-12 victory over Canada before completing a comeback draw with the Argentinians, 20-20 at the Principality Stadium last weekend.
Moriarty, who is in line to make his third start from as many games, admits it’s been a different but enjoyable summer within the Welsh camp.
“It’s obviously been a different experience not having to travel away for the summer but luckily enough we have had the ice weather in the last few weeks and it’s been good to be back at the Vale” said the 47-timed capped international.
“It was good to go up to North Wales, it was a bit of a change of scenery, and it was a good camp and we met a lot of new boys who haven’t been in the squad before so it was good to get to know each other a bit better.
“It was great to see some of the young boys playing well at the regions get a chance.”
Moriarty missed the Guinness Six Nations title Winning campaign due to injury and hasn’t played a game at the Principality Stadium for Wales in 2021, before the victory over Canada.
The 27-year-old Number eight admits he is excited at the prospect of being able to play at Principality Stadium once more to cap off a long and difficult season.
“I have had the chance to play against Argentina a few times in the past and we know they are a big team, they have a big pack of forwards and sharp backs so it was a very different game to the week before.
“But I don’t think any of the boys shied away from it whether they started or came on, but it was a great step up and we were disappointed not to actually get the win and we believe we left a few chances out there.
“It is really exciting just to play back at the Principality Stadium, it’s been quite a long time for myself so just being able to get on the bus drive down the road and walk out onto that pitch again is really exciting.”
