Dragons Rugby were delighted to welcome special guests from our Autism and Additional Needs Provision to our A fixture at Rodney Parade last week.
The Compeed Stand was utilised to support our guests offering them a private and inclusive space to support the boys from the sidelines.
Head of Inclusion at Dragons Rugby Gareth Sullivan said: “I wanted to thank everybody at Dragons and our Autism provision for supporting us in delivering what has transpired to be an amazing experience for our additional needs guests this evening.
“As a club we are being recognised for our work in this space far and wide, while we are still in the infancy of our growth in this space, we are changing the lives of so many.
“We have had some amazing initial feedback from the game and some great learnings to enable us to improve and grow going forward.”
“This is a huge statement by the club and hopefully further progress in becoming the most Inclusive Rugby Club in Wales and beyond.”
The Scarlets A game was the latest initiative from our new autism provision that was launched last month.
The provision takes place at Risca Rugby Club every Monday for Children aged 5-16 from 4pm-5pm.
They are run by fully qualified and experienced autism rugby coaches and are filled with fun engaging activities that include mini games and soft play.
