Head Coach Dai Flanagan has revealed he will not rush Argentine international scrum half Gonzalo Bertranou back into action after a gruelling 2023.
Bertranou has been with the Pumas for the Rugby World Cup in France and featured in four games as they secured fourth place.
The 29-year-old – now capped 56 times by his country - is currently away from Ystrad Mynach as he recovers from his exertions this calendar year.
“Gonzalo is on a break at the moment,” stated Flanagan.
“People must remember that he broke his foot playing for us in January and he was so focused on the World Cup that his season has near enough been 11 months to ensure he can play in that.
“He is worn out. They got to the third-place play-off and what is important is that we need a fresh Gonzalo back in the group.
“We're excited to get all our internationals back next week, joining in with training and preparing for a game.
“Gonzalo might be back next week, or we may give him longer. It’s important he comes back to us fresh.”
