Dragons RFC are pleased to announce the signing of hooker George Roberts from Doncaster Knights.
The 27-year-old front row has linked up with the Men of Gwent ahead of our EPRC Challenge Cup fixture this weekend.
Wrexham-born Roberts joins the club after an impressive five seasons in the English Championship at Castle Park with the Knights.
He made his 100th appearance for the club earlier this month. Roberts started his career with his birthplace rugby club, Wrexham RFC, before becoming part of the RGC 1404 pathway at 16, progressing through Coleg Llandrillo and RGC Age Grade into the Academy.
The mobile hooker spent a successful senior season with RGC in 2019/20 playing in Super Rygbi Cymru before later moving to Doncaster.
Head Coach Filo Tiatia said: “We’re pleased that George has linked up with us and we’re all looking forward to working with him and him being part of our group.
“He’s a proud Welshman who’s made the journey down from Doncaster this week. He’s met the players and coaching staff and is eager to get started with us.
“It’s a chance for him to make a big impression in our environment. He is committed and grateful for the chance. We wish him every success.”
