Back row ace Keddie agrees a new deal

26/02/2025

Dragons RFC are pleased to confirm influential back row Harrison Keddie has signed a new long-term deal with the club.

Keddie made his Dragons debut against Zebre at the end of the 2015/16 season and has since gone on to make 126 appearances for the club over ten seasons.

The 28-year-old born in Magor - who has scored 15 tries for the club - was also part of the Dragons squad that won the Premiership Singha Sevens Tournament along with the Wales U20s team which won the Grand Slam in 2016. Keddie also represented Ebbw Vale and Cross Keys, winning the Premiership title with the Steelmen in 2015/16.

The powerful back rower’s importance for Dragons has grown year-on-year, named club captain for the 2021/22 and 2022/23 campaigns and reaching a century of appearances in the win over Ospreys in his second season as captain.

Head Coach Filo Tiatia said: “Harri is an awesome re-signing for us.

“He really captured my eye when I first came into the club during pre-season, and I’ve enjoyed working with him ever since.

“Harri is a man of few words, but when he does speak, he captures the room. He is incredibly valuable to us and hugely respected, someone who leads by his actions.

“He is currently working hard to get back from the niggly injury and we look forward to him being out on the field representing us.”

Keddie added: “I’m really grateful for the opportunity to continue to represent Dragons and am looking forward to staying at my home club for the next few years and what the future holds.

“I’m hoping to be back out on the pitch soon to repay the faith shown in me by the club.”
