Under-18s edged out in RAG derby

Captain Tye Davies grabbed a first half try as Dragons Under-18s were edged out 7-5 by Cardiff in horrendous conditions in the Regional Age Grade Championship at Ystrad Mynach.

In blustery stormy conditions, both teams emerged with credit for producing an entertaining encounter despite the weather that hit the game.

Davies grabbed a seventh minute opener, with the home side capitalising on a stolen lineout to show neat hands and strike out wide.

Cardiff hit back on 19 minutes when Tom Bowen made a break and found Scott Delnevo for the try.

The conversion would prove to ultimatelt settle the game after a scoreless second period.

Dragons were also forced into a late change with prop Morgan William was injured in then warm-up. Our best wishes to Morgan with his recovery.
