The new Inclusive Wellbeing Hub on the North Stand at Rodney Parade has been a huge hit this season – with more and more supporters now using the ground-breaking facility.
A pioneering collaboration with Nixon Hire has helped redefine the spectator experience at the home of Dragons - particularly for children and adults with additional needs.
Dragons RFC became one of the first clubs in Wales to offer such a dedicated facility and the new Hub demonstrates our unwavering commitment to promoting accessibility, inclusivity, and community engagement.
The Inclusive Wellbeing Hub serves as a safe haven for children and adults with additional needs, offering an enclosed, quiet, and secure space with a direct view of the pitch.
Away from the crowds, this facility provides a comfortable environment for those who may be sensitive to the auditory and visual stimuli associated with live sports events.
The Inclusive Wellbeing Hub, with the unit kindly provided by Nixon Hire, has been in operation all season and Mike Sage, Community Manager at Dragons RFC, has been thrilled with its impact.
“The Inclusive Wellbeing Hub represented a significant step forward in making rugby accessible to everyone in our community and the impact has been clear for all to see,” he said.
“It has provided many our supporters who have sensory sensitivities with a safe place to be able to enjoy our match day experience and see the Dragons in action.
“We are using the new Inclusive Wellbeing Hub both on match days and during the week and now look forward to welcoming even more schools, clubs, and additional learning needs providers across our region to use it."
