Head coach Sean Lynn has named the Wales side to face Ireland in Round 4 of the Guinness Women’s Six Nations at Rodney Parade, on Sunday (kick-off 3pm).
There are two changes, with one positional for Wales’ final game on Welsh soil before the 2025 Rugby World Cup later this year.
Centre Hannah Jones will captain the side and vice-captain Alex Callender is selected at Number 8 and makes her first start of this W6N campaign.
Lynn’s newly appointed on field leadership team of Jones, Callender and vice-captain Keira Bevan will all feature for the first time during the tournament.
Georgia Evans, who was named in the W6N team of the week for Round 3, moves from the back row and partners Abbie Fleming in the second row.
Kelsey Jones is selected at hooker and joins props Gwenllian Pyrs and Jenni Scoble in the Wales front row.
Scrum half Bevan partners fly half Kayleigh Powell at half back, while skipper Jones is in midfield with Courtney Keight.
The back three of full back Jasmine Joyce and wings Lisa Neumann and Carys Cox make their fourth start as a unit.
Wales have won three of the last six Test matches against Ireland, including a 31-5 win against the Irish in Cardiff back in 2023.
Wales are set to beat the crowd record of 1,862 set for the last fixture played at Rodney Parade, the historic first win against Australia last year.
Sean Lynn, Wales Head coach, said: “This is our final game at home in the Guinness Six Nations and we need to keep building our performances and to focus on expanding our style of play and what we want to achieve as a squad.
“The players have bought into the attacking game we are implementing but we need to work harder for each other and to turn the pressure moments we are creating into points.
“We know what Ireland will bring, and they have proved their quality throughout the tournament.
“The players have been told to be brave and to express themselves and they have a licence to inspire on the field.
“We know Ireland will pose a real challenge, but it’s challenge we are looking forward to and one that we are relishing.”
