Head Coach Filo Tiatia admitted Dragons would take the learnings and keep improving after a difficult night at Glasgow Warriors in the BKT United Rugby Championship.
A much-changed Men of Gwent side suffered a 49-0 loss in Scotland on an evening where several young players got a first taste of senior action.
Tiatia admitted it had been a hard experience for his side at Scotstoun Stadium but he wants then to take the lessons before turning their attention to Cardiff Rugby and a big Welsh derby next Friday back on home soil.
“Glasgow outplayed us in different areas of the game,” said Tiatia. “We didn’t have much possession, and our set piece didn’t really function.
“We have a short turnaround until next week and there are clear areas that we need to keep improving on. That will be the task ahead.
“It was disappointing to not to have anything to show for our efforts. We have got to be more clinical and build pressure.
“It’s unfortunate with the forward pass when Dai Richards scored the try.
“We saw where some of our younger players are at,” he added. “We wanted to give them an opportunity to play at this level and an experience.
“This is a tough place to come to. But it is a shared experience that we will take onboard. We’ve just got to keep improving.”
Dragons will now review the game and assess an ankle injury sustained by lock Levi Douglas that forced him off in the first half.
“We’ll get Levi medically checked out and hopefully his ankle is not too bad. Hopefully he’ll be back available soon,” said Tiatia.
“We’ve got Cardiff now with a short turnaround, and they will be raring to go. We’ll review this game and then we will look forward to Friday night.”
