Lead Academy Physiotherapist
We're looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as a Lead Academy Physiotherapist. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the cutting edge of professional sport where you will join a strong team of medical professionals.
- JOB TITLE: Lead Academy Physiotherapist
- SALARY: up to £35k per annum dependent on relevant experience
- CONTRACT: Permanent with probationary period
Reporting directly to the clubs Head of medical and the academy manager, the successful candidate will lead the physiotherapy management of the academy squad with a daily responsibility for the senior academy group.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical
- Act independently and in collaboration with physiotherapy team to assess, analyse and provide a clinical diagnosis for all injured players and plan an effective rehabilitation plan.
- Ensure all aspects of player care for all academy players are monitored including prehab, rehab, fitness assessments and treatment.
- Manage caseload of players effectively and efficiently with other academy medical staff members.
- Maintain patient documentation, records and accurate statistical information to reflect care provided and meet professional standards.
- Provide pre-game and pitch-side medical support services at home and away fixtures as required for both academy and first team.
- Communicate effectively to the club’s medical team, coaches and players about updates on players injuries and return to training dates.
Departmental Responsibility
- Participate in the departmental Personal Development and Performance Review system to promote personal and service developments.
- Be actively involved in clinical audit to support the clubs Clinical Governance Strategy.
- Liaise with a range of individuals, internal and external to the organisation, to ensure effective service delivery.
- Assist in delivering WRU Minimum Medical Standards Criteria for annual compliance evaluation.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Physiotherapy Registration with HCPC
- At least three years post graduate experience with at one years experience within an elite level sporting environment
- Current Level 3 PHICIS (or equivalent)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be proficient at using all Microsoft and mac based office programmes
- Full UK driving license
- Eligible to work in the UK

Junior Academy S&C Coach
Are you passionate about rugby and eager to play a key role in our performance team. We're looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as our Junior Academy Strength and Conditioning Coach. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the cutting edge of professional sport.
- JOB TITLE: Junior Academy S&C Coach
- SALARY: Commensurate with experience
- CONTRACT: Fixed-term, 3 years Key
Responsibilities:
- To drive the development Dragons Academy and Pathway players from the Emerging Player Programme to the Junior Academy ensuring there is a succession plan of players to the Senior Academy and Dragons Depth Chart
- Deliver a high-quality S&C service for identified Dragons players across the conditioning sub-disciplines (strength and power; metabolic conditioning etc) for specified Junior Academy players
- Lead the delivery of the regional age grade U18s programme as part of the WRU national games programme
- Develop a workforce to drive the Emerging Player programme and lead the physical development of this area.
- Work closely with the Academy Head of Performance and Dragons Head of S&C to drive physical development
Qualifications & experience:
- Appropriate undergraduate degree in Strength and Conditioning (Essential).
- UKSCA Accreditation or equivalent qualification (NSCA, ASCA) (or working towards).
- Ideally two years experience of working with athletes.
