Dragons RFC will be boosted by the return of fly half Angus O’Brien ahead of the BKT United Rugby Championship clash with Glasgow Warriors this Saturday, 7:35pm kick off.
The 2022/23 Dragons Player of The Year has been out of action since suffering a broken arm in the round three defeat to Munster back in November.
O’Brien will also be joined by Welsh international full back Cai Evans who has been released by the WRU for this weekend’s fixture.
The 24-year-old fly-half/full-back came on in the final stages of last weekend’s 16-14 defeat to England at Twickenham.
However, Head Coach Dai Flanagan has confirmed Dragons will be without up to twenty players for the round ten clash due to injuries & international duty.
Back rowers Aaron Wainwright and Taine Basham, hooker Elliot Dee, wing Rio Dyer and tighthead Leon Brown all remain in Wales camp to prepare for the round three trip to Ireland.
Centre Harri Ackerman is also on international duty captaining Wales in the Under-20 Six Nations.
While a host of injuries throughout the squad means there will be a number of exciting young talents getting the chance to impress in Scotland.
Head Coach Dai Flanagan said “Angus O’Brien is back fit for selection, we’ve had one ten fit all year and now we have two which is great.
“Angus is like an energiser bunny running around the place this week because he can’t wait for the weekend and get some game time under his belt.”
On Cai Evans, Flanagan continued “Cai is super pumped to be back involved and has been superb in training this week. He has a spring in his step, training with Wales enhances these boys and we have an excited Cai Evans ready to go this week.”
“We have a decent injury list but that brings opportunity and exposure to some young players and hopefully they can go and grab that opportunity with both hands because I’m excited.”
