Talented young prop Jordan Morris has signed a new Senior Academy contract to remain with Dragons RFC.
The former Wales Under-20 prop has represented Pontypool RFC during his time in the Dragons Academy.
The 21-year-old is an explosive ball carrier who is another converted back row, having scored a remarkable 27 tries in 20 games for Pontypool Schools - a record previously held by Taulupe Faletau.
A product of Croesyceiliog RFC, Morris joins the likes of Evan Minto, Nick Thomas, Harry Rees-Weldon, Logan Franklin and new recruits Codi Purnell and James Talamai in agreeing Senior Academy deals.
“I’ve re-signed with Dragons as I feel it’s the best place for me to continue my development into professional rugby,” said Morris.
“After missing most of the season due to injury, I’m eager to get back on the pitch, make an impact and continue growing as a player.
“I’m looking forward to continuing to work with Forwards Coach Sam Hobbs, who I worked with at Wales Under-20s, while I’ve also had coaching from Ceri Jones as I comeback from injury and I will be seeing a lot of him during my time in the SRC next season.”
Lewis Roberts, Dragons Academy Manager, said: “We’re delighted that Jordan has committed his future to Dragons RFC.
“Jordan is a talented rugby player with huge athletic potential, and we look forward to continuing to support his development over the next number of years.
“After what has been a difficult season with injuries, we are all excited to see Jordan play during the 2025/26 season.
“Jordan is a young man with a bright future and it’s great that he will be a Dragons for a number of years to come.”
Forwards Coach Sam Hobbs also welcomed news of the new contract adding: “Jordan had a good Under-20s campaign last year, with some standout performances in the Six Nations.
“Physically and athletically, he's got huge potential. As a ball carrying front five player, he wins collisions both sides of the ball and we don’t have many athletes like him who can potentially dominate collisions in the senior game.
“It’s been a frustrating year for Jordan with his injuries, but he’s got a lot of time on his side as a young prop and we’re really looking forward to him kicking on and picking up more experience in the SRC.
“There’s no substitute for experience as a front row and it’ll be good to see him and Dylan Kelleher-Griffiths learning from and pushing a group of senior looseheads while getting game experience in club rugby in the SRC.”
