South African born hooker Bradley Roberts came through the Cell C Sharks Academy in Durban before making the move to Ireland where he played for Rainey Old Boys in Division 2A of the All Ireland League. His performances in the All Ireland League caught the eye of the Ulster coaching staff who brought the hooker into the squad. He made his debut for the Province in November 2020 against Edinburgh and went on to make 19 appearances across his two seasons in Belfast, scoring three tries.
In October 2021, following the withdrawals of hooker Ken Owens and Elliot Dee from the Welsh squad, Roberts was rewarded for his form at Ulster with a surprise call up by Wales head coach Wayne Pivac as a replacement for the Autumn Nations Series. The front row ace earned two caps off the bench against South Africa and Fiji before being selected again for the 2022 Six Nations Championship. As of June 2023 Roberts has six caps for his country including a try against France in Paris during the 2023 Six Nations.
The powerful an dynamic hooker signed for Dragons ahead of the 2022/2023 season and hit the ground running, starring in the victories over Munster and Ospreys at the start of the season earning a place in the national squad for the Autumn Nations Series and the Six Nations. Roberts went on to make 18 appearances and scored five tries during his debut campaign in Gwent becoming a firm fan favourite in the process.
