Young fly half Will Reed came through the Academy system at the Dragons and after impressing at age grade level he became a part of the Wales U20 international set up in 2021 earning two caps. A superstar of the future, Reed had a breakthrough season at senior level during the 2021/2022 campaign making his Dragons debut and became a key performer for Newport RFC, scoring a 178 points and leading the Black and Amber's to the Premiership final and to Indigo Welsh Cup victory kicking 15 points in the final. Reed won the Newport RFC coaches Player of the Season at the conclusion of the campaign. 

The talented Reed made six appearances for the Dragons in the same season with his debut in March 2022 coming off the bench in Pretoria against South African side Vodacom Bulls before playing the Cell C Sharks a week later in Durban. His first start came in the derby fixture with Ospreys at the Swansea.com Stadium a month later. The 2022/2023 season saw Reed become a regular in the first team squad at Dragons as he went on to make twelve appearances scoring 58 points, including a first try for his home region against the Emirates Lions at the Centre of Excellence in Ystrad Mynach.

As of June 2023, still at the age of just 21, Reed has made 18 appearances for the Men of Gwent and is closing in on a hundred points for the club as he looks to kick on ahead of the 2023/2024 season.
