Ellis Shipp is another player to have come through the Dragons pathway system and has earned a rapid rise to the first team at Dragons. Shipp is an emerging front-rower who has earned his dues at Ebbw Vale, Cross Keys and Bedwas and represented Wales at under 20 level in 2017 and took part in the under-20 Six Nations.

He went on to make the step to the Dragons senior squad and made his Dragons debut during the 2016/17 campaign but his breakthrough year came the following season where he made nine appearances for his home region and began pushing his way up the pecking order. Shipp has gone on to make 34 appearances in all for the Dragons, scoring three tries, as of June 2023.
