Prop powerhouse Lloyd Fairbrother joined Dragons in the summer of 2014 and made his debut against Connacht Rugby later that year. Born in Cornwall, Fairbrother had playing spells with Exeter Chiefs, Moseley, Cornish Pirates and Plymouth Albion before making the move to Newport. The hugely popular front row has been a cornerstone of the pack over the last decade making a 164 appearances for the region becoming the most capped prop in the club's history and sixth on the all-time list of appearance makers.

Fairbrother hit the hundred game milestone in the 2018/19 season away at Franklin’s Gardens against Northampton Saints, while his 150th appearance came in the victory over the Ospreys at Rodney Parade during the 2022/2023 season. His 164th and landmark appearance came on the final day of the 2022/2023 campaign and was celebrated in style as Dragons defeated Scarlets at the Principality Stadium on Judgement Day. Ahead of the 2023/2024 season, Fairbrother committed his future to the club as he signed a new long-term deal.
